February is known for its bitter cold temperatures, but it’s several small highlights dot its always-short calendar. From Groundhog Day (hey! Phil says an early spring this year!), Valentine’s Day, President’s Day — and Chocolate-Covered February. It’s the town of Hershey’s ode to its founding, and it’s packed with loads of chocolate-related events, dinners and treats.
Hershey’s Chocolate-Covered February has a variety of events, from tastings and tours, both family-friendly and adult-appropriate activities, town-wide and all month long. A newer highlight includes the Chocolate Tapas Dinner, held at The Hershey Lodge on Feb. 16.
Here is the link to the 2013 Chocolate-Covered February events, and check out these recommendations:
- Chocolate Lab Class “Try it with Truffles” at The Hershey Story, The Museum on Chocolate Avenue — Make your own hand-made truffles in this class. Appropriate for all ages and available every day of Chocolate-Covered February.
- Check out ZooAmerica North American Wildlife Park every Friday for just $5 during Chocolate-Covered February. Animals are actually more active in the colder temperatures. A must-stop for the whole family.
- Chocolate Spa Sampler: The ultimate in cocoa-infused relaxation from The Spa at The Hotel Hershey. If you can, splurge on the Cocoa Facial Experience – one of the best treatments I’ve ever had.
- Chocolate Martini Mixology Class: Covet those scrumptious chocolate martinis? Learn to make them yourself in this hands-on class (you get to drink ‘em too – but just sip or you’ll get yourself in trouble!). Always a great time and available every Friday at 8 p.m.
Restaurant Specials: Click here for details for specials at Houlihan’s, Highlands Grill, Cafe Zooka, The Bear’s Den, The Hershey Grill and the always underrated but fantastic The Forebay.
